Mismatched Book Cover

I made a self-help book cover to experiment with my style, and I got the idea to make this book from a 30-day drawing challenge where one of the prompts was “mismatched.”

The first thing that came to mind was mismatched socks, so like most of my illustrations, I wanted the style to be realistic but more fun than real life. Part of making the socks realistic was taking the time to draw little fuzzy threads to add more depth to the socks. I chose to draw mismatched colored legs to represent an individual who has divided their attention into two different things. This was a fun project for me to make because I used softer brushes than I normally would use, which helped it to look more realistic compared to my other illustrations.
